Before the Remodel

The original kitchen and dining area featured dark brown stone flooring, heavy cabinetry, and a segmented layout that visually divided the space. While functional, the room felt closed in and dated. The darker finishes absorbed much of the available light, and the layout limited both flow and visibility between the kitchen and adjacent living areas. Storage was present but lacked cohesion, and the overall design did not fully take advantage of the home’s open architecture and natural light.
The space had potential, but it needed a complete reimagining to bring it into alignment with modern living — brighter, more open, and more welcoming.
 

After the Remodel

The transformation is dramatic.
The new kitchen is anchored by a spacious central island in a soft blue tone, topped with bright quartz countertops that immediately reflect and amplify natural light. Crisp white cabinetry extends to the ceiling, creating a clean, tailored look while maximizing storage. Modern black hardware provides subtle contrast and sharp detail throughout.
A custom blue herringbone backsplash adds texture and character, enhanced by integrated under-cabinet lighting that creates a soft glow across the workspace. The upgraded stainless steel appliances and professional-grade range hood bring both performance and contemporary style.
The dark stone flooring was replaced with wide-plank gray wood floors, completely changing the feel of the home. The new flooring brightens the space, enhances continuity, and visually expands the entire kitchen and living area.
Additional built-ins, including a beverage center and wine refrigeration, elevate functionality while maintaining the streamlined aesthetic. Pendant lighting above the island and recessed ceiling lights complete the design with layered illumination.
 

The Result

What was once a darker, compartmentalized dining room is now an open, light-filled kitchen showpiece. The space feels larger, more cohesive, and purpose-built for gathering, entertaining, and everyday living. Every material, finish, and fixture was selected to create balance — bright yet warm, modern yet timeless.

This remodel didn’t just update the kitchen. It transformed the entire atmosphere of the home.
